What it means to be a Sunny Sanctuary volunteer

Sunny Sanctuary facilitates the rescue and re-homing of otherwise abandoned or put down animals. Sunny Sanctuary relies on volunteers with big hearts to help foster animals while a new forever home is found. When we find or rescue an animal, we contact all our approved foster volunteers in the area to see if they have the space and ability to care for the animals during the process of  vaccinating and treatment of the animal, advertising them and interviewing the potential pet-parents.  Foster carers can help by housing a pet anywhere from a few hours to a few months.

As much as we need as many foster carers as possible, we’re also dedicated to ensuring all our volunteers and forever homes love and care for the animals as much as we would ourselves! Successful foster carers should ideally:

• love animals
• have someone at home to care for the animals during business hours,
• have appropriate facilities (yard/fence/litter tray/cage) for the foster animal
• be able to source and feed animals appropriately nutritional diets during their stay.
